About Us

Earl Engineering is a family-run business built on generations of experience and a passion for innovation. While we operate on a small scale, our technical capability rivals that of much larger companies.

Our story began in 1971, when Ross White founded the business by transforming a former Methodist church in Warsop into a fabrication workshop. From that humble base, Ross supplied gates, railings, and general steelwork to the local area.

In 1998, Ross’s nephew, Steve, took over the business and continued to grow its reputation for quality. At the same time, Steve’s son Matt was developing a strong interest in maths and physics—skills that eventually led him to become a structural engineer. The combination of hands-on fabrication knowledge and in-house engineering expertise naturally evolved the company’s focus toward structural steelwork. Over the years, our projects have expanded to include major structural installations, including work for hospitals across the UK.

Recognising a gap in the market whilst researching cold-formed steel structures, Matt led research and development into our own range of direct-to-user cavity wall lintels. Unlike larger manufacturers who only sell through distributors and merchants, we saw an opportunity to offer a more direct and cost-effective solution. After thorough testing and meeting all regulatory requirements, we launched our own line of cavity wall lintels in 2024.

Today, and now relocated in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Earl Engineering continues to grow. We are expanding our product range and investing in new designs and technologies—always with the same commitment to quality, integrity, and practical innovation that has defined our business for over 50 years.
