Resin Types in Brief
Polyester Resin
An economical general-purpose resin for threaded-rod fixings in non-cracked concrete, brickwork, blockwork and other suitable masonry.
Vinylester Resin
A high-performance all-round resin for structural steelwork, threaded rods and reinforcement bars in cracked or non-cracked concrete and a wide range of masonry substrates.
Pure Epoxy Resin
A premium resin for demanding structural anchoring, deep embedments, large-diameter fixings and installations requiring a longer working time.

Which Resin Do I Need?
There are several resin types available, each with different approvals, curing times, load capacities and suitable substrates. The following sections provide a simple overview of the products we offer.
JCP Polyester

JCP Polyester Resin is an economical general-purpose injection resin for fixing threaded rods into non-cracked concrete, brickwork, blockwork and other suitable masonry substrates.
It is a practical choice for many everyday anchoring applications where cracked-concrete approval, seismic performance or specialist structural approvals are not required.
Typical applications include handrails, staircases, brackets, gates, barriers and general steelwork connections, subject to suitable fixing design.
Well-known polyester resins include Rawlplug R-KEM II, Fischer FIS P Plus and Chemfix PESF TOP.

Vinylester resin is considered a step up from polyester.
JCP Vinylester Resin is a high-performance injection resin suitable for structural steelwork, threaded anchor studs and reinforcement-bar connections.
It offers a broader range of approvals than polyester resin and can be used in cracked and non-cracked concrete, as well as a wide range of solid and hollow masonry substrates.
Vinylester provides a strong balance between performance, versatility, curing speed and cost, making it the preferred choice for many structural and general construction applications.
Typical uses include structural steel connections, reinforcement dowelling, column bases, machinery, barriers, façades, handrails and retrofit connections, subject to appropriate design.
Well-known vinylester resins include Rawlplug R-KER II, Fischer FIS V Plus and TIMCO VESF.

JCP Pure Epoxy

JCP Pure Epoxy is a premium two-part injection resin developed for high-performance structural anchoring.
It can be used with threaded rods, reinforcement bars and internally threaded sockets in cracked and non-cracked concrete, as well as selected solid masonry and natural stone substrates.
Pure epoxy is particularly suited to demanding structural fixings, large-diameter anchors and deep embedments. Its longer working time allows additional time to inject the resin and position the fixing, which can be beneficial for complex installations or deep holes.
Typical applications include structural steelwork, reinforcement-bar connections, column bases, machinery, barriers, façades and cantilever connections, subject to appropriate structural design.
Pure epoxy generally takes longer to cure than vinylester resin. This makes it useful where a long working time is beneficial, although vinylester may be more suitable where the connection needs to be loaded quickly.
The JCP Pure Epoxy cartridge uses a 3:1 mixing ratio and requires the compatible JCP epoxy applicator. It cannot be applied using a standard silicone gun or conventional 300 ml resin applicator.

Correct hole cleaning is essential to achieving the published performance of a resin anchor. Installation should be carried out in accordance with the resin manufacturer’s instructions, including the specified drilling method, hole diameter, cleaning procedure, resin discard quantity, curing time and tightening torque.
