SDS Plus Drill Bits for Concrete, Masonry & Resin Anchors
JCP SDS Plus drill bits are designed for heavy-duty drilling into concrete, natural stone and masonry using a compatible SDS+ rotary hammer drill.
Each bit is manufactured from high-strength steel to help resist bending and snapping, with two tungsten carbide cutting edges for dependable drilling performance. The range includes popular diameters for mechanical fixings and resin anchor studs, together with longer 450mm drill bits for deep holes, thicker materials and applications requiring additional reach.
Available SDS+ Drill Bit Sizes
Dimensions shown are drill diameter × overall length.
| Drill bit size | Working length |
|---|---|
| 8mm × 210mm | 150mm |
| 8mm × 450mm | 400mm |
| 10mm × 210mm | 150mm |
| 10mm × 450mm | 400mm |
| 12mm × 210mm | 150mm |
| 14mm × 210mm | 150mm |
| 16mm × 210mm | 150mm |
| 16mm × 450mm | 400mm |
| 18mm × 200mm | 150mm |
| 18mm × 450mm | 400mm |
| 22mm × 250mm | 200mm |
| 22mm × 450mm | 400mm |
| 26mm × 450mm | 400mm |
The working lengths above are taken from the JCP product range. Always ensure the working length is sufficient for the required hole depth before drilling.

SDS Drill Bits for Resin Anchors
Correctly sized holes are essential when installing chemical anchor resin and threaded studs. Our range has been selected to include the common drill diameters required for JCP resin anchor studs:
| Resin stud size | Common drill-hole diameter |
|---|---|
| M8 | 10mm |
| M10 | 12mm |
| M12 | 14mm |
| M16 | 18mm |
| M20 | 22mm |
| M24 | 26mm |
These drill-hole diameters are specified for the corresponding stud sizes within applicable JCP resin systems. Requirements can vary between products, substrates and installation methods, so always confirm the required diameter and hole depth using the technical data for the particular resin being installed.
The available 210mm, 250mm and 450mm drill lengths allow the appropriate bit to be selected for standard or deep resin-anchor embedments. The required drill depth must remain within the usable working length of the selected bit.
Typical Applications
JCP SDS+ masonry drill bits are suitable for drilling holes for:
- Resin anchor studs
- Chemical anchors
- Throughbolts
- Mechanical concrete anchors
- Masonry fixings
- Structural steel base-plate fixings
- Handrails and balustrades
- Brackets and support frames
- Machinery and equipment fixings
- General construction work
Always check the fixing manufacturer’s instructions before drilling, as the required hole diameter may not be the same as the nominal thread or fixing diameter.
Suitable Base Materials
- Concrete
- Natural stone
- Brickwork
- Blockwork
- General masonry
Suitability may depend on the strength, condition and composition of the substrate. Care should be taken when drilling brittle natural stone or masonry of uncertain condition.
Choosing the Correct Drill Bit
Select the drill-bit diameter specified in the technical information for the fixing or resin anchor being installed. Do not select the diameter solely from the thread size of the anchor.
The required working length must also be greater than the specified drill-hole depth:
- 200mm and 210mm overall-length bits are suitable for shorter and medium-depth holes where their 150mm working length is sufficient.
- The 22mm × 250mm bit provides a 200mm working length.
- 450mm overall-length bits provide a 400mm working length for deeper embedments, thick masonry and applications requiring additional reach.
