Chemical anchor kits combining hot-dip galvanised threaded studs with high-performance JCP vinylester injection resin.
Designed for fixing structural steelwork, base plates, columns, brackets, machinery and other fixtures into concrete and approved masonry substrates, each kit provides the principal components required to create eight resin-fixed anchor positions.
Choose from galvanised property class 5.8 studs for general structural anchoring or high-tensile property class 8.8 studs where greater stud strength is required by the connection design.
What Is Included?
Each resin anchor kit contains:
- 8 hot-dip galvanised JCP resin anchor studs
- 8 nuts
- 8 washers
- 300ml JCP vinylester injection resin cartridge - One cartridge & mixer nozzle for M12 & M16 options, two for M20 & M24 options
The chisel-pointed studs feature a depth mark indicating the standard embedment depth and are hot-dip galvanised in accordance with BS EN ISO 1461. JCP supplies both its grade 5.8 and grade 8.8 galvanised studs complete with nuts and washers.
An applicator gun, drill bit, blow-out pump and hole-cleaning brush are not included and should be purchased separately where required.

The included 300ml JCP vinylester resin is a high-performance, styrene-free chemical anchoring resin for installing threaded studs into concrete, brickwork and other approved substrates.
It holds an ETA Option 1 assessment for use in cracked and non-cracked concrete, together with a separate European Technical Assessment for masonry. It is expansion-free and can be used in dry, wet and flooded concrete holes, subject to the applicable installation instructions.
The 300ml cartridge can be applied using the compatible JCP applicator or a suitable standard heavy-duty cartridge gun designed for the cartridge format.

Suitable Base Materials
The included vinylester resin has published data for use in substrates including:
- Cracked concrete
- Non-cracked concrete
- Solid brickwork
- Hollow brickwork
- Concrete block
- Autoclaved aerated concrete blocks
- Solid and hollow calcium silicate brick
- Natural stone
A suitable nylon sleeve may be required when installing into hollow or perforated masonry. Not every anchor diameter is approved for every substrate, so the applicable technical data must be checked before installation.
Grade 5.8 or Grade 8.8 Resin Studs?
Grade 5.8
Grade 5.8 galvanised studs are suitable for a wide range of general and structural anchoring applications where their steel resistance and the capacity of the complete resin anchor system meet the connection design.
They offer a cost-effective choice for many base plates, brackets, handrails, barriers and general steelwork connections.
Grade 8.8
Grade 8.8 studs are manufactured from higher-strength steel and may be specified for more heavily loaded or demanding connections.
However, selecting a grade 8.8 stud does not automatically increase the resistance of the complete anchor. The resin bond, concrete strength, embedment depth, edge distance or concrete failure mode may govern the connection before the stud reaches its steel capacity.
The required stud grade should therefore be selected from the fixing design rather than on stud strength alone.
Standard Drill Sizes and Hole Depths
For standard embedment into concrete, JCP specifies the following installation dimensions:

Alternative shallow and deep embedment options are available for certain applications. The resistance, minimum concrete thickness, spacing and edge-distance requirements change with the selected embedment depth.
Resin Coverage
The number of anchors that can be installed from one resin cartridge depends on:
- Stud diameter
- Drill-hole diameter
- Embedment depth
- Accuracy of the drilled hole
- Quantity purged before use
- Resin lost inside the mixer nozzle
- Overfilling and installation wastage
- Voids or irregularities in the substrate
JCP gives the following approximate number of standard concrete fixings from one 300ml cartridge:

These quantities are approximate and should not be treated as guaranteed yields.
Installation
- Drill the hole to the diameter and depth specified for the selected anchor.
- Clean the hole thoroughly using the required blowing and brushing sequence.
- Fit the mixing nozzle to the resin cartridge.
- Dispense the initial resin to waste until a consistent colour is produced.
- Inject resin into the back of the hole, gradually withdrawing the nozzle.
- Insert the stud using a slow twisting motion until the depth mark reaches the concrete surface.
- Leave the stud undisturbed for the full curing period.
- Fit the steelwork or other fixture and tighten the nut to the specified installation torque.
JCP instructs installers to clean the hole using repeated blowing and brushing, fill the hole approximately one-third to one-half full, insert the stud with a twisting action and allow the resin to cure before loading the anchor.
Important Information
The resin, stud and base material form a complete anchoring system. Anchor capacity cannot be determined solely from the stud diameter or whether a grade 5.8 or grade 8.8 stud is selected.
The fixing design must consider:
- Applied tensile and shear loads
- Concrete or masonry type and strength
- Cracked or non-cracked concrete
- Stud grade and diameter
- Embedment depth
- Concrete member thickness
- Anchor spacing
- Distance from concrete edges
- Installation temperature
- Hole condition and cleaning
- Environmental and corrosion exposure
